Features

  • Asepti Metal Bright is an acidic detergent suitable for removing water scale and lime deposits, brightening and passivating stainless steel surgical instruments and as a neutralising rinse
  • Asepti Metal Bright is a heavy duty phosphoric acid which can be used on all stainless steel medical instruments and on elastomer anaesthetics, but is not suitable for chrome or anodised aluminium.
  • Asepti Metal Bright is suitable for automated washer disinfectors and manual cleaning processes in CSDs and healthcare facilities.
  • Asepti Metal Bright complies with AS/NZS 4187:2014 and AS/NZS 4815:2014.

Directions For Use

Instrument Brightening – Soak Method:

  • Wear suitable protective clothing including gloves and eye protection (see SDS)
  • Prepare a solution of Asepti Metal Bright in hot water (50°C – 60°C) at 75 mL per Litre.
  • Fully immerse the cleaned and opened instruments into the solution for brightening and rust removal allow instruments to soak for 15 – 30 minutes.
  • Inspect instruments and repeat soaking if necessary.
  • Remove instruments from solution and rinse thoroughly in clean low chloride water.
  • Reprocess immediately in a washer disinfector machine.

Instrument Brightening – Ultrasonic Method:

  • Wearing suitable protective clothing including gloves and eye protection (see SDS)
  • Prepare ultrasonic bath by diluting Asepti Metal Bright at 15 – 30 mL per Llitre.
  • Fully immerse the cleaned and opened instruments into a warm solution 40°C – 50°C.
  • For brightening and rust removal process instruments under ultrasonic action for 5 – 15 minutes.
  • Inspect instruments and repeat process if necessary.
  • Remove instruments from solution and rinse thoroughly in clean low chloride water.
  • Reprocess immediately using automated alkaline wash and dry cycle.

Neutralising Rinse:

  • Suitable for use as a neutralising additive in the first rinse after the alkaline wash.
  • Dose Asepti Metal Bright at 0.2 – 2 mL per Litre of rinse water into the initial rinse cycle. Do not over dose.
  • At completion of cycle check the pH to ensure instruments are left at neutral pH.
  • Increase or decrease dosing as needed to neutralise.

Descaling:

  • For Maintenance De-scaling use in a machine as per the Neutralising Rinse protocol.
  • For Remedial De-Scaling, dose Asepti Metal Bright at 50 mL per Litre in a bowl, onto the rack in the machine, then run the De-Scale program in the machine: 60°C – 70°C for 10 – 20 minutes.
